Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival
Client background
August Wilson Center is an organization focused on supporting black arts through incubators, galleries, and a variety of programs to learn about performative arts. They aim to spread awareness and celebrate the black arts and August Wilson’s life and his purpose, to document African American voices, places, and languages that shaped his world view.
Project requirements
The August Wilson Center contacted Hearcorp looking for a live stream alternative for their traditionally in-person event, Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival. This Festival invites jazz musicians from across the country to perform and celebrate the history of Jazz.
The Approach
Con Alma is a local jazz bar located in Pittsburgh’s Shadyside neighborhood. They honor Pittsburgh's rich jazz history through hosting live musicians seven days a week to play outside or inside their bar. Due to their strong connections to the Jazz community, this made Con Alma the perfect venue for Pittsburgh’s International Jazz Festival live stream.

Timeline
This live stream cam together rather quickly. We were able to craft a bid, gather a team, and record within 2 weeks. However, we did have to relocate to 25 Carrick due to the rain.
Impact
During the live stream, there were 40,000 attendee’s, about the same in-person attendees from festivals past!
